However, if you are looking for a quick fix, we are here for you! For most stains, mix 1/4 teaspoon of a mild dishwashing liquid with a cup of warm water in a spray bottle. Spray it onto the stained area of the carpet and dab it with an absorbent cloth. Next, spray cold water to rinse the detergent, and resume blotting with a clean cloth. You can leave paper towels in the spot to absorb any remaining moisture. Some stains can be picky though! So, here’s a step-by-step guide on specific, target-oriented stain removal:

  • Tea/Coffee/Wine stains:
    Step 1: Blot it up.
Step 2: Mix 1 tablespoon of vinegar and liquid dish soap in 2 cups of warm water.
Step 3: Use a sponge to blot the stain with the mixture.
Step 4: Sponge with cold water and dry.
  • Pet Stains:
Step 1: Clean up the debris using a pair of gloves or blot it with a towel.
Step 2: Use a carpet cleaner with enzymes (or the Hoover carpet cleaner) that help remove the odour.
Step 3: Additionally, you may use 1/4 cup of white vinegar/ white wine with warm water and spritz on the stain. You can also use a laundry detergent in a spray form, if the stain is resilient.
Step 4: After you allow the vinegar to soak, blot the stain and let it dry!
  • Ink stains:
Step 1: Dampen a cloth with Isopropyl alcohol and dab it on the stain.
Step 2: Allow it to soak and use a vacuum (liquid friendly ones only) to remove excess moisture.
Step 3: You may repeat the first two steps to remove the stain completely.

Now that your stain is gone, here are some tips to maintain your luxury carpet:

  • Vacuum frequently to keep the dust from accumulating.
  • Avoid placing heavy furniture on the carpet to prevent dents.
  • Address spills immediately.
  • Steam clean your carpets annually.
